Cupcakes & Chevron

It’s that time of year again, when Starbucks brings out their charming red cups, homes are lit up at night with string lights and decorations, and I’m listening to Michael Bublé’s Christmas album on repeat (can we pause for a minute and think about the fact that there’s only 12 days until Christmas?!) But all of this exciting news brings something that I’m not so excited about: cold weather. This winter, I’m staying warm with heavy sweaters and boot socks and making that mad dash from my car to indoors to avoid being cold for a second longer than necessary.

I found this chunky cardigan at Target, and I’ve been wearing it constantly. I love comfy sweaters that keep you warm while allowing you to wear stylish clothes without covering them up.

This chevron necklace is one of my favorites! It pairs perfectly with all my shift dresses, and I love incorporating the chevron trend into my wardrobe without going over the top.

I met up with my friend Emily at Buzz Bakery and enjoyed two of my favorite things in the world: a chai latte and a red velvet cupcake. If you live in the DC area, you’ve got to check out Buzz! This is one of the best red velvet cupcakes I’ve ever had, WAY better (and cheaper!) than Georgetown cupcake or even Baked and Wired. The cream cheese frosting was to die for.

I hope your Christmas shopping is going well! I’m staying warm and cozy and online shopping from my couch. The top of my wish list? This book on flower arranging, an Influence Conference class on saying no to comparison (something I’ve been trying to work on), and these classic black leather gloves.

  1. Such a cute casual outfit, and I love your gold bracelet! I’ve actually been to that bakery a couple of times (because I have a cupcake problem) but I have never tried the red velvet one! Now I feel like I need to back ASAP and get one 🙂
